{"id":4242,"date":"2022-02-09T17:54:28","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T16:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.btsasociados.com\/?p=4242"},"modified":"2022-02-09T17:54:29","modified_gmt":"2022-02-09T16:54:29","slug":"consumer-price-index-cpi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.btsasociados.com\/en\/consumer-price-index-cpi\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer Price Index (CPI)."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Main results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The annual variation rate of the CPI for the month of December stood at 6.5%, one point above that registered in November.<\/li><li>The annual rate of core inflation increased four tenths, to 2.1%.<\/li><li>The monthly variation of the general index is 1.2%.<\/li><li>The Harmonized Consumer Price Index (IPCA) places its annual rate at 6.6%, more than one point higher than that of the previous month.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Annual evolution of consumer prices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual rate of the general Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the month of December was 6.5%, one point above that registered the previous month and the highest since May 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The groups with the greatest influence on the increase in the annual rate are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Housing<\/strong>&nbsp;, whose annual variation of 23.3%, six and a half points above that registered in November, is caused by the increase in&nbsp;<em>electricity<\/em>&nbsp;prices , higher this month than in 2020.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also worth noting, although in the opposite direction, the drop in&nbsp;<em>heating oil<\/em>&nbsp;prices , which rose in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Food and non-alcoholic beverages<\/strong>&nbsp;, which placed its rate at 5.0%, almost two points higher than the previous month, due to price increases in most of its components.&nbsp;Among them, those of&nbsp;<em>legumes and vegetables<\/em>&nbsp;stand out , which fell in December 2020, and those of&nbsp;<em>bread and cereals<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>meat<\/em>&nbsp;, higher this month than in 2020.<\/li><li><strong>Hotels, cafes and restaurants<\/strong>&nbsp;, which increased its variation six tenths, to 3.1%, as a result of increases in the prices of&nbsp;<em>accommodation services<\/em>&nbsp;, which fell in 2020, and of&nbsp;<em>restaurants<\/em>&nbsp;, higher this month than in December of 2020.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, among the groups with a negative influence, the following stand out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Transportation<\/strong>&nbsp;, with a variation of 10.9%, more than two and a half points lower than the previous month, caused by the decrease in the prices of&nbsp;<em>fuels and lubricants for personal transport<\/em>&nbsp;, compared to the rise registered in 2020&nbsp;<em>.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Main results The annual variation rate of the CPI for the month of December stood at 6.5%, one point above that registered in November.
